Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. surrounded by cherry blossoms

Six judges from UpTake reviewed many photos during the past week since the conclusion of our UpTake Home Page Spring Photo Contest and finally selected the winning entry.  The photo was shot by Aley H. from Washington D.C. Her winning photo conveyed “travel”  and the “spring season” the most effectively. After much discussion, we concluded nothing shouts spring like cherry blossoms wrapped around the famed Jefferson Memorial. She delivered our favorite.

It was a difficult choice. We had many incredible shots: from our beloved Golden Gate bridge rising behind wildflowers, an acre of tulips blooming, the Rockies dusted with melting snow, vineyards starting to sprout, horses grazing, butterflies taking flight, a ship cruising at sunset, tropical suns setting, and even a peaceful Buddha in residing in a garden. The creativity was everywhere, the final selection a challenge.

We thank you all for participating.

Our congratulations to Aley H. for a beautiful photo.
