If you have a talent for beautiful photography, we invite you to enter UpTake’s Home Page–Spring, 2009  Photo Contest. Send us the winning photo and you can win $250.00.

UpTake changes its home page photo with each season- fall, winter and soon, spring. It will soon be time to take down the winter photo of a penguin on ice and replace it with a remarkable image of spring.

Deadline:
The photo contest begins at Midnight on February 13, 2009 (PST) and ends at midnight on March 8, 2009 (PST).

Submission:

1.  Submit your photo by posting it on your blog. If possible, please link to the contest on UpTake. Linking to UpTake is not a requirement for entry.

2.  You must tell us you entered by commenting on this post with a link to your photo. Please include your email address in the comment field. We will contact you using this email address if you are the winner.

3.  If you don’t have a blog, then your entry can be submitted via email to pat at uptake.com (please put Spring Photo Contest in subject line). Please include your first name, last name, email address, mailing address, city, state, zip code and URL if the photograph is posted to the Web.

4. You may also mail your entry to UpTake Home Page Spring Photo Contest, UpTake Networks, Inc., 654 High Street, Palo Alto, CA 94301. Include a separate, self-addressed envelope of the proper size with sufficient postage affixed or your photo will not be returned.

5.  We will accept digital files, digital prints, color transparencies, color prints or black and white prints.

Requirements & Criteria:
1.  The photo must convey the spring season.
2.  The photo must inspire travel and the desire to explore the world.
3.  No people can be included in the photo.
4.  The photo must be at least 950 pixels wide and 600 pixels tall. Bigger photos can also be submitted.
5.   We will accept digital files, digital prints, color transparencies, color prints or black and white prints.
6.  The photo has to accommodate our search box. Typically this means the left side, has to be relatively empty and “not-busy.” Usually we have pictures where the left side is mostly a single, solid color or colors that are similar like light grey and white.
7.  Only one entry per day. Each entry must be associated with a new blog post and new comment. Each participant may submit up to ten photographs total.
8.  Entry materials may not infringe on any third party rights and you must have obtained permission from the third party if their property or image appears in the photo. We can disqualify the photo at our sole discretion if we cannot obtain the necessary permissions for any element or component of the photo.
9. Only one entry per day is allowed.

Judging
The final photo will be selected by the UpTake product development and marketing team on March 19, 2009 based on the above requirements and criteria.

Use of the photo
We will use the photo on the home page of our website and on the header of the UpTake vacation blog for four months. UpTake reserves the right to remove the photo at anytime. UpTake reserves the right not to use any photos submitted.

Since UpTake is a family-friendly site, we reserve the right to reject unsuitable or pornographic images.

Copyright: Copyright for any of your original photos will be licensed to UpTake under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/). Copyright of the image remains the property of the photographer. A photo credit with copyright symbol will be provided on the home page.
Entries must be submitted by the original photographer. Only photos submitted by the original photographer will be considered. Do not submit a photo taken by someone other than yourself. You must be the sole owner of the copyright of any image submitted. Your submission of the photo and entry form is your guarantee that you are the author and copyright holder of the photo.
